Dr. Ian Coombs
Home /This section of our website is written by Dr. Ian Coombs. Dr. Coombs is a research scientist working in the department of Neuroscience, Psychology and Pharmacology at UCL in London in the United Kingdom. He primarily investigates the function of AMPA receptors (GRIA) which are close relatives of the NMDA receptors (GRIN) and are similarly vital for normal signaling between neurons in the brain. Dr. Coomb’s work is currently focused on characterizing the effect of disease associated variants in the GRIA genes, identifying precision therapies based on his findings and performing basic characterization of potential gene therapies.
The board of GRIN Europe would like to thank very much Dr. Coombs for this valuable contribution to our website and we look forward to working with Dr. Coombs in supporting European GRI patients.
